The poker room was the last of major renovations that started last fall in a bid to attract new customers. The new sportsbook,The Book, officially opened in January. In addition, The Topgolf Swing Suite opened in February.

General Manager Chris Albrecht told the Philadelphia Business Journal:
'The poker room was moved from racing level to casino floor to have all gaming action on one floor. It was part of the re-imagination of the back of the casino with new sportsbook and Topgolf.'
That is to say, these new additions and renovations 'are aimed at keeping customers happy and to attract new blood to the facility,' Albrecht said.

The three-day tournament will feature a guaranteed $1,000,000 prize pool and, of course, the WSOP Gold Bracelet. It takes place as part of Harrah's Cherokee Circuit Series (August 6th-17th, 2020).
Only the 154 qualified players who have received a wildcard as a WSOP Circuit Main Event Champion or WSOP Circuit Leaderboard Winner will be eligible to participate in the tournament. All poker cracks, which are in the top 50 of the WSOP Circuit Season Long Leaderboard at the end of the season and have not already received a wildcard, will also receive a free seat.
Also, the WSOP Player of the Year Rankings Top 100 and all WSOP Circuit 2019/2020 ring winners can buy into the tournament for $10,000. The buy-in goes directly into the prize pool with no fee deductions.
All players who receive a wildcard will receive a $500 travel allowance and three nights at Harrah's Cherokee in addition to the tournament seat. International guests even get four nights' accommodation.
